The Department of Information Science and Engineering started in the Year 2010 with an approved intake of 60 and Enhanced to 120 from the academic year 2018-19. The Department has qualified and professionally dedicated faculty member practice OBE in the academic deliverables. The faculties have published research articles in various National, International, IEEE Conferences, and Journals.

The department has modern laboratories to serve the teaching and research needs of the students as well as faculty members. The Department has been organizing conferences, workshops, expert lectures, and student-centric activities to encourage students and faculty to instill lifelong learning. Few of our students are working for consultancy projects along with a few faculty members. The staffs are encouraged to attend the 10 days internship to bridge the gap between the academics and industry. The department has an admirable research ambiance.

Program Outcomes

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

  1. ISE software Club members Mr.Nikil, Mr.Jayanth, Ms.V.Prerarna of IV sem under the supervision of Prof.S.Mahalakshmi developed a software called E-challan generation for backlog, convocation and revaluation fee and presented to principal on 25.5.17. Principal has appreciated and gave suggestions to improve. The Software has been hosted in local server of Account Department for beta testing.
  2. Mr Agneya Koushik student of 2nd sem ISE interviewed as a ?A game changer and creator since 11? in Indian Express on 7th Jan 2017
  3. Deeraj A S,Mohammed Zaid and Aditya Bhat Students of 8th semester ISE guided by Prof. Ashwini N got a KCST sponsorship of 4,000/- for the project titled ?Developing ERP for Torque, Dimension and Electrical Calibration for Flutech Engineering Pvt.Ltd ? and given a evaluation project presentation on 20th may 2017 at Sapthagiri Engineering college Bangalore
  4. The faculties have published over 77 papers in the past few years in various National and International Conferences and Journals.
  5. The Department has been organizing conferences, workshops, expert lectures and student centric activities to encourage faculty and students to instil lifelong learning
  6. The Department organizes an annual intercollege technical fest, INFINIUM, in which many students from other colleges and departments attend.
  7. In the quest for academic excellence leading to global standards and to provide a platform for the students graduating from the portals of BMSIT, the Department has adopted the practice of Outcome Based Education (OBE).
  8. Many Students and Faculties actively involving in internships with different companies to understand latest technologies and bridge the gap between industry and academia.

  23. Techsaransh is an online project depository focused on automatizing the process of consolidating and printing the collection of all final year projects along with it?s abstracts.
  24. The Admission Data Entry system was developed with the motive to simplify admission process by reducing the queue of students and to maintain a single master database by capturing all the information of the students right from the time they join college.
  25. The Accounts Software was developed to make the entire process of fee submission and other account related work more efficiently, Including Challan generation
  26. It is the system is equipped with the management of all the student and faculty data right from the time they join college. The marks and daily attendance of students can be fed into the system and reports be generated at any point of time.
