Student Activities

What makes college life all the more enjoyable is being a part of a community that shares the same passion and interests as you. So make sure you join a club or association that you like and get acquainted with people who are like minded in order to get the full college life experience. BMSIT&M has been at the top in the list of engineering colleges in Bangalore which offers a wide range of clubs to choose from several social and global interests.


Clubs & Associations


OIKOS (Eco-Club @ BMSIT&M)
EcoClub

OIKOS, the Eco-Club of BMSIT&M functions under the Institutional Environmental Committee; and was conceptualised on 5th June 2016 (World Environment Day), and formally announced on 16th Sept 2016 (World Ozone Day), with vision & mission statements, bye-laws and a governing body. The prime motto to incept this forum is to protect, preserve and enhance the natural environment principally at BMSIT&M and as well of its surrounding communities. OIKOS has advisory members from NGO's, Industries, Forest Departments, Natural Historical Societies, Academia etc. OIKOS is the most active institutional student club in BMSIT&M, which engages in varying kinds of offline and online learning activities. OIKOS is the 1st Eco Club in Country/World to have a MoU with a University (NLSIU), and also the 1st to instill Green teachers Award to honour green teaching crusaders. Kindly refer to the newsletter to review the plethora of activities our student and faculty members have carried out since the inception of the club. The latest feather in our efforts in protecting Environment is the E-waste Awareness and Collection Drive conducted across the entire Bengaluru Urban and Rural.

National Service Scheme

Started initially in 37 universities involving 40,000 volunteers, the NSS has grown over the years and it is implemented today with an involvement of more than 2.6 million volunteers spread across 200 Universities. The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.


Women Empowerment Cell

The WEC is created with the aim to redefine what it means to be a strong woman and to empower women not only within the community but non-members as well. The WEC conducts various programs to train women living in rural areas and helps them acquire knowledge and skills to improve their quality of life.


Gender Champion Cell

The Cell was created with the aim to make the young boys and girls gender sensitive and create positive social norms that value the girls and their rights.


National Cadet Corps(NCC)

The National Cadet Corps is the Indian military cadet corps with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens.


Akshay Urja Club

Akshay Urja Club aims at spreading awareness about the vast area of renewable energy sources among the engineering students and to create a sense of respect and responsibility towards the environment.


Melange Foundation

Melange is an organisation which concentrates on various aspects to build and improvise personal and professional goals.It is one of the very few organisations that is completely a youth driven initiative to help everyone to gain knowledge and expertise by doing various technical, non-technical and social projects.


Walkfree Foundation

WalkFree movement has strived worldwide to create a better society for the future generation and also successfully prevented modern slavery in various nations. One such college is BMSIT.

Quizcraft

Quizcraft is Quiz Club whose goal is to provide a platform for every student who is interested in trivia or quizzing. It exists to stimulate an interest in general knowledge and quizzing of all types.


BMSIT&M Photographic Committee

BMSIT&M Photographic committee is started in the year 2015-16. Ensures photographic coverage of all events of importance in the institution.


The Programming Club

The Programming Club, TPC was started with the aim to create a competitive programming atmosphere, conduct programming sessions and guest lectures from industry experts and a lot more.


Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Association(TEA)

The TEA was inaugurated on 3rd September, 2014 by the Chief Guest Shri Dr. D.M. Ezhil Buddhan, General Manager, Broadband networks circle, BSNL. It is an exclusive platform created by the telecommunication department for the all round development of it's aspiring student members. The association also occasionally organises intercollegiate competitions


Entrepreneurship Development Cell

Entrepreneurship is a key element of industrialization and economic progress. Due to rapid growth of the Indian economy and a boom in the number of startups coming into existence, it is important to have an Entrepreneurship Development cell in any college. The EDC at BMSIT&M aims to provide assistance to students who seek to tread on the entrepreneurial path.


Research and Consultancy Cell

The research and consultancy cell strives to be the preferred destination for teaching and research during the years ahead.


Computer Society of India

The CSI has played a crucial role in guiding the Indian IT industry down the right path since its formative years. Currently, the CSI has 72 chapters all over India. The CSI Student Chapter of BMSIT&M was inaugurated in the year 2014 and has been conducting technical talks and workshops ever since.


IEEE

IEEE is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 400,000 members in chapters around the world. Its objectives are educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.


ISTE

The Indian Society for Technical Education is a national, professional and non-profit society. Its major objective is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organisations. It also aims at personality development of students and overall development of the technical education system of India.


Society of Automotive Engineers

The primary area of focus of the SAE club is mobility engineering. The association also focuses on enhancing formal education and professional development.


Manthana

To showcase the achievements and the various work of the faculties and students of the Institute, Manthana an annual magazine is published at the end of every academic year.


Taco

Oozing with known and unknown trivia about the Institute and all its people, from all walks, TACO is a bi-monthly college newsletter designed and compiled by the students for the students.


Telechronicle

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Departmental magazine which will be released annually. It is a forum for our students and teaching fraternity to showcase their talents and technical skills. The magazine contains the latest events, activities and achievements of the students and staff of the department.


Agratha Magazine, MCA Department

To show case the achievement’s of the department, the newsletter "AGRATHA" was started in 2013. The first volume was released in August 2013 whereas the second volume was released in January 2016.


Something that binds all fields and streams together is the spirit of college festivals. To have fun embellished with learning experience is an idea that we uphold. Acknowledging this, we, at BMSIT&M organize a number of fests for the best provision of such oppurtunities.


Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The Electrical and Electronics Department organizes an annual intercollege technical fest, titled “VIDYUT”, during the odd semester, with widespread participation from other colleges and departments. Events usually conducted under the fest include paper presentations, poster presentations, quizzes and mock placements. Other events exclusive to the Department are also conducted; such as circuit debugging and robotics related competitions.


Mechanical Engineering

The Forum for Mechanical Engineering is a club run by students under the guidance and support from the faculty. Under this club, the department conducts an inter-collegiate technical fest titled “UTHKHANANA", annually during the odd semester; with widespread participation from students of other colleges. Events conducted for the past few years include paper presentations, poster presentations, quizzes and mock placements along with other events exclusive to the Department.


Electronics and Communication Engineering

Elecsim is a club run by students under the guidance and support from faculty. The club aims to encourage technical interest among students from various Departments who have a common interest in electronics. Under this club, the department conducts an intercollegiate technical fest annually during the month of September (odd semester). Events conducted under the fest include paper presentations, poster presentations, quizzes and mock placements. Other events exclusive to the Department are also organized. stalls organized by the fest’s sponsors along with General stalls selling products created by students are also an accompanying feature.


Computer Science and Engineering

The Computer Science Department organizes an annual intercollege technical fest, titled "SEMAPHORE", during the odd semester, with widespread participation from other colleges and departments. Events usually conducted under the fest include paper presentations, poster presentations, quizzes and mock placements. Other events exclusive to the Department are also organized. Accompanying stalls are set up by the fest’s sponsors.


Information Science and Engineering

The Department organizes an annual intercollege technical fest, “INFINIUM”, during the odd semester, in which many students from other colleges and departments attend. Events usually conducted under the fest include paper presentations, poster presentations, quizzes and mock placements along with other Department specific events


Master of Computer Applications

The department of MCA has planned to conduct fest in the month of February called Ganaka Jnanotsava as a platform for all-round development of students as an intercollege IT fest.



Life Support Infrastructure


Leaving one's home behind and staying at a new place can be a difficult situation. So, we at BMSIT&M make sure their hostel life makes them feel at home.

First Aid / Fire Extinguishers / Water Coolers


First aid kits have been provided in all the labs in all the departments including the office and library.

Fire extinguisher of relevant type are placed at strategic locations to meet any emergencies arising out of fire.

Water coolers are provided in every floor of all the buildings to facilitate purified drinking water.

Friendly Building


The building in the campus including the hostels are provided with adequate number of lifts. Besides the entry point of the buildings are provided with rafts (sloped floorings) to facilitate the movement of wheelchair.

Supplementary Facilities


Transport Facility


A significant percentage of students come to BMSIT&M from different parts of the city. To ensure a swift, safe and comfortable commute between the college and home, BMSIT&M makes use of a number of busses (with experienced drivers) which traverse a selection of different routes to cater to the students’ requirements.

Banking Facility


An on-campus branch of the renowned Allahabad Bank has you covered for your banking requirements. So all of your financial needs are taken care of.

24/7 Power Supply


  1. The Primary power Distribution to an extent of 250KVA is obtained from BESCOM.
  2. Power back-up is provided by a 320 KVA Stand-by Diesel Generator switched automatically in the event of power outages.
  3. The Diesel Generator caters power to the entire campus.
  4. In addition, there is a 250 KVA Diesel Generator to supplement the power requirements.
  5. Un-interrupted Power Supplies (UPSs) have been installed to cater to the Computer Systems and sensitive gadgets that require uninterrupted power supply.

Sports Facility


Everyone plays sports of either one kind or another. Here at BMSIT&M we offer our students a great selection of sportive activities to choose from. Whether you are the kind of a person who prefers outdoor sports like Cricket, Basketball, Football, or a fan of indoor sports such as Table Tennis, chess, we have got you covered! Play for fun or join the college team, its your choice!
