Tech Transform 2018

BMSIT &M, Avalahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru, celebrating technical fest – TechTransform-2018, on 2-11-2018 and 03-11-2018. Chief guest Sri B C Rao, MD and CEO, Kennametal India Limited, Dr. S K. Shivakumar, Chairman, BMSIT&M, Former Director, ISRO, and Padmashree awardee, Dr. P Dayanand Pai, Trustee BMSET, Sri Venkatesh Murthy, Deputy Director, Data Security Council of India , NASSCOM, Sri Gowtham Kalattur, CEO, BMS Innovative Labs, Dr. Mohan Babu G N, Principal, BMSITM, Dr. Annamma Abraham, Vice Principal and Dr. Hanamantharaju, chief coordinator inaugurated the function. Chief guest B C Rao said that, to be a positive contributor to the society, you need to be a very good educator. He advised the students to try to bring more poor people into the mainstream with the help of technology and we need to be in the forefront of the technology. Changes are happening in sales, production, and so many other areas, we have to understand the current trends and embrace the technology. Requested the Faculty to do more practical demonstrations of technology which can motivate the students to take it a step further and, said that every institution should strive to produce very good output irrespective of type of the institution. He wished that BMSIT&M will produce good students, who can transform the society and he informed students to develop communication, and personal skills along with the technical knowledge to fetch a job in the industry. He also told that co-curricular events play a very important role in building leadership skills among the students. He said that students should learn only those technologies that are helpful for the mankind, using which we need to build very good ecological system. He said that Government, Industry and Academia should join to do a little bit to our younger generation. Dr.S. K. Shivakumar, president of function, suggested the students to concentrate more on their projects and to gain more practical knowledge. He suggested the students to participate in more technical events and to find answers to their questions. Sri venkatesh Murthy, said that there are more opportunities for youngsters in digital forensics and cyber security. He told that Government has established Nirbhaya Funds to set up Forensic Labs in every state, for which we need more cyber security professionals. Currently, Industry is facing lack of human resources in forensic field, even the courts are relied on cyber forensic professionals. He suggested the students to learn diversified skills to become a cyber-security professional and explained the importance of ethical behavior and fundamental concepts of law in the forensic field and suggested that we need to be very good managers to deal with the issues. And wished BMSIT&M to produce more skilled professionals who can take the lead role in this regard. Principal Dr. Mohan Babu G N, said that, there is a need to take technology to under privileged, and down trodden. He stressed upon environment friendly technology – which is the need of the hour. Mohan Babu said that, we cannot do anything greater with non-inclusive and non-sustainable technology and suggested for ethical deployment of technology. He suggested every student to adopt five important things in their life- Curiosity, Creativity, Innovativeness, Entrepreneurship and walking an extra mile. Sri Gowtham Kalattur, congratulated the Team BMSIT&M for successfully organizing tech transform for the 3rd successful year. Dr. Annamma Abraham delivered the vote of thanks
