These are additional (over and above the curriculum) courses where the faculty/department can offer to bridge the gap found in the curriculum. These courses add value to the existing courses which enable the students acquire all the graduate attributes (POs) to become successful professionals. Therefore open course conduction for this semester has been decided between 12.06.2023 to 16.06.2023. All these courses are recommended and proposed by Industry. Also, 50% to 60% of the contents are delivered by Industry Experts. Weightage for hands-on sessions are given at most importance to all the courses.
Attending Open Course is mandatory for both 4th and 6th Semester Students of all branches. This attendance will be considered for regular class during the same period and will get reflected in gnums.
The registration for each of the courses is capped at 60 students. For a particular course of a department, upto 50% of the registration is allowed for the parent department students and other 50% of the registration is allowed for other department students. Ex: For a course offered by CSE department: The maximum students allowed for registration is 60. CSE students registration is limited to a maximum count of 30 and the remaining is for the other department students. For the courses offered by Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and BICEP, any student of any department can choose those courses subjected to a maximum count of 60 in each of the course.
